1.      To learn some stories about the greatest woman scientist--Madame Curie and to learn some sprits of her.

2.       Understanding the text and accomplish some tasks assigned.

Enjoy a piece of music about Madame Curie.

Ⅱ. Preparation and presentation:

1. Try to answer the following questions while listening to the tape:

2). How did everyone think of Marie at her childhood?

3). Why did she have to take care of herself?

5). It was in Paris that…

6). Why were the Curies given the Nobel Prize?

7). What did Marie do after her husband Pierre’s death?

8). What did she get for her achievements?

9). In which year did Marie die?

10). What was the secret of Marie’s greatness?

2. Enjoy a piece of movie about Madame Curie; try to repeat what Marie said.

Eg: “Take the torch of knowledge and build the palace of the future.”

3. Find the secret of Marie’s greatness:

4. Expain the phrases”Mind” and “take notice of”
